Today is the 31st of December 2009. My term as your form teacher will officially cease after today. The new school term will start next week and school life will definitely be very different when you are not there to greet me anymore. I will really miss all that noise coming from the whole lot of you, even though there are only 20. But having said all that, I cannot let you go without saying a huge “Thank You” to each and every one of you for the support you have given me these three years. I know many of you have “suffered” because of the earful that I’m always generously dishing out to you but I do hope you did learn something (good things, of course) from me as I have from all of you. Well, it’s time to say goodbye, as our journey together has come to an end. But I’m glad to say I’m taking along with me many cherished memories and I’ve made many more new friends. I’ve watched you learn and grow from strength to strength and I hope that all the things we’ve done have helped in some small way. So it’s with happy memories I send you out the door, with great hope and expectations for what next year holds in store. Goodbye children. Take care and stay in touch.
P.S. Timmy gave me this on the last day of the exams. He mentioned so many things in the card and it brought me on a trip down memory lane. Reason why I’m re-sending this out to all of you is because in a nutshell, whatever’s on the cover of the card is what I would like to thank everyone for. Like I’ve said many times, I’m blessed to have a class like yours.
P.S.S. Do take some time to start getting prepared for the release of results. Although we get jittery thinking about it, January 2010 is here and we should expect the results to be out approximately 2 weeks from now. Like I’ve said before, it’s never the end of the world if things do not go your way. It only means you have to take a longer route to get to where you want to go to. Do some thinking and make some alternative plans just in case things don’t turn out the way you want them to. If they do, congratulations! If they don’t, life still goes on. Pick yourself up, look ahead and move on. Timmy said this in his card (I hope he won’t kill me for mentioning this!!!):
The smell of freedom is indeed amazing, and my journey on this train has ended. Along the way, I have the chance to smell the sweet scent of flowers but have also pricked myself many times. However, each failure makes me stronger in the process. I have really enjoyed the ride not because of its luxury but because it has moulded me into a better student and a stronger person.
Well, it’s really goodbye now. Happy New Year everyone and all the best for the year ahead.
